171MOT is a seventeen-position, single-pole, momentary contact switch. Refer ring to the vector diagram above, actuation of any one of the four inboard switches, X₁, X₃, Y₁, Y₃, is accomplished by deflection of the operating handle a short distance in the desired direction along the "X" or "Y" axis. Full range deflection along either axis actuates both switches common to that axis. Deflection of the handle a short distance at an angle of 45º, actuates both switches common to that quad rant. Further deflection at 45º actuates all four switches in that quadrant. Release of the operating handle at any position al lows it to return automatically to the "OFF"position. Note! The actuation axes, "X" and "Y", are inclined at an angle of 45º to the switch case axis.
