91MDXY is a nine-position, single-pole, momentary/maintained contact switch. Referring to the vector diagram above, actuation of any one of the four inboard switches, X₁, X₃, Y₁, Y₃, is accomplished by deflection of the operating handle a short distance along the desired axis. If the operating handle is released at this point, it returns automatically to the "OFF" position. Full range deflection of the handle in either direction, along either axis, actuates both switches common to that axis. Switch contacts of both the actuated switches are maintained with the handle set in any of the outboard positions, and remain so until the handle is manually reset to the "OFF" position.
